Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to slam Dele Alli after he filmed himself appearing to mock an Asian man while seemingly accusing him of having the deadly coronavirus.
The Daily Star report that Alli – a 37-cap England international – was seen videoing himself on Snapchat with what sounded like Chinese accents in the background, while he had captioned the video with ‘Corona whatttttt, please listen with volume’.
The former MK Dons player then zoomed in on an unsuspecting Asian man’s face, before panning to some antibacterial hand-wash with another caption reading ‘this virus gunna have to be quicker than that to catch me.’
According to The Daily Star, the coronavirus has killed more than 720 people while 35,000 cases have been diagnosed since it was first identified.
It goes without saying that Alli hasn’t conducted himself professionally, and it remains to be seen if the FA decide to take action or not.
Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the 23-year-old’s moment of stupidity…
To kick off the reaction, Noz Ahmed said that there is “no defending this” and that the Tottenham No.20 “should know better” – there can be no arguments with this statement, in truth.
Elsewhere, these two supporters were more hard-hitting in their words towards Alli.
Harry said that he’d “sell him tomorrow” after hearing about what the Englishman did, while another fan called the midfielder a “git” while also demanding that he “grow up” – telling it how it is.
Elsewhere, Adi said that Alli is “massively in the wrong for this” and called people defending it “deluded” – too right.
Lastly, Sam and Nathan had some strong adjectives to describe the Milton Keynes-born man’s antics.
Someone’s got to own them: Who do these incredibly unwanted PL records belong to?
Sam branded the act as “extremely disappointing” while Nathan labelled it as “vile” – for such a well-known footballing presence, Alli really ought to have known better.
