Michael Laudrup of Swansea and Roberto Martinez at Wigan are the early favourites to replace David Moyes as Everton boss.
The club confirmed on Thursday that Moyes would be leaving at the end of the season to join Manchester United and Everton chairman Bill Kenwright will now concentrate on finding a man to replace Moyes, who has been at Goodison since joining from Preston 11 years ago.
Danish star Laudrup has excelled in his first season in the top flight taking Swansea to their first major trophy and mid-table respectability in the Premier League and Martinez has lead Wigan to the FA Cup final.
The duo have plenty of company though as a number of other names have been mentioned.
Also linked are: Mark Hughes, who has already indicated he would like to be considered, Celtic boss Neil Lennon, former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo, former England boss Steve McClaren, former player Stuart McCall – now at Motherwell – Porto boss Vitor Pereira, current coach Duncan Ferguson, Brighton boss Gus Poyet and outgoing skipper Phil Neville.
