Pedro is currently experiencing some difficult times over at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard’s new regime.
Even though he used to be an important piece of Chelsea’s jigsaw, the new coach decided to reshuffle the cards a bit and give some younger players a bigger role.
As a direct result of that, the 32-year-old winger has only tallied 592 minutes under his belt across all competitions in the 2019/20 campaign.
And with his contract due to expire next summer, a potential departure could be on his mind, especially after his most recent admission for SER Catalunya when he said he would love to go back to Barcelona, as was quoted by Sport:
“It’s an option that’s always there and that I hope it could happen.
“I don’t know if it’s in the hands of the president, the coach or whoever. I think for them my return is difficult but it’s clearly a possibility.”
Upon seeing this interview, many of the Blaugrana fans were absolutely up for that option and would seemingly welcome him with open arms.
It seems that there are some fans who believe Pedro is still better than their current option, Ousmane Dembele, a young and prolific winger who is still struggling to find his footing over in Catalonia.
One fan even said that the 32-year-old Chelsea man is better than both Dembele and Coutinho combined, that’s how highly he’s rated among the Barcelona fans.
Of course, despite his own admission, we still don’t know whether he truly is an option for Ernesto Valverde.
At the end of the day, however, anything is possible in football and only time will tell whether he returns to the Nou Camp.
Elsewhere, Juventus could finish their jigsaw by hijacking a high-profile Man United target…
