What on earth is going on with Kiko Casilla’s potential ban?
Everything seems to have gone quiet on that front. The deadline for his response was a couple of weeks ago, and it came and went without very much new information emerging.
Understandably, fans have been anxious to learn what’s going to happen to their star goalkeeper, and we received a minor update from Phil Hay after United’s game against Huddersfield last week.

One fan asked what was going on with Casilla and his FA hearing in Hay’s post-match Q&A session with The Athletic, to which the journalist replied:
“Waiting for it to get scheduled. Could be a long process yet.”
It seems as if this one won’t get resolved in the near future, and that could be an absolute disaster for the club.
Uncharacteristically, United have been able to grind out results this season, and that’s partly down to the performances of Casilla as the Spaniard has conceded just 13 goals in 22 league games this term.
However, with Leeds’ history of ‘falling apart again’ late on in the season and the infamous trend of Bielsa’s teams burning out, there is always the danger of this good run not lasting.
As the season progresses, Leeds may fall away slightly, and if they do they’ll be relying on their goalkeeper to keep them in certain games at times.
However, if Casilla is out of action due to suspension during the crucial late period of the campaign, then Leeds could be in a bit of trouble.
Illan Meslier has yet to play a senior game in English football since arriving from Lorient while Kamil Miazek is also an inexperienced choice.
Without a proven backup option, Leeds may further struggle if Casilla is out for a prolonged period.
In other news, Phil Hay has stated that one young player could get a chance in the coming weeks.
