As reported by The Scottish Sun, Brendan Rodgers is planning a big transfer window this summer and has the lifted the lid on the kid of players he wants to bring to Celtic Park.
What’s the story?
Despite romping home to the league title already and having failed to be beaten at all domestically this season, Celtic are a club that will always be looking to improve themselves.
A big part of that will be improving on this year’s showing in Europe after finishing bottom of their UEFA Champions League group.
To that end, the Celtic manager has revealed he has big plans in the upcoming transfer window and is hoping to bring in players of a similar quality to Scott Sinclair.
As quoted by The Scottish Sun, Rodgers said:
There is talent out there and we will always look to get it. As a Celtic supporter, I know what the fans want. They have always had someone with the magic. They have always had someone who gets them up off their feet. Always. So I know what they want, hence the reason I brought in Scott Sinclair because he gets them up off their seats. We’ll be looking for that. How many? A manager will always tell you three, but it really is a limited amount.
That’ll be music to the ears of Hoops fans everywhere, who have certainly enjoyed the impact of the English winger this season so far.
The blueprint
Sinclair arriving at Celtic last summer was something of a coup, it’s not often the Bhoys manage to attract a player with a high profile from the English Premier League or English Championship, usually being the club that unknown players make their name at.
The former Aston Villa hasn’t disappointed, scoring a massive 23 goals in all competitions and currently topping the Scottish Premiership scoring charts.
If Rodgers can attract a few more players of his quality this summer then it could transform Celtic from dominant domestic kings to a team that can mix it with the best in Europe.
