Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic continued his rich vein of form in front of goal by scoring in Serbia’s 3-0 win against Moldova in their latest 2018 World Cup qualifier on Saturday.
The centre-forward bundled home in the 81st minute to wrap up a comfortable victory for his nation, and it now means that he has scored eight goals in his last eight games for his country and is behind just Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku in the scoring charts in the current qualification process.
The 22-year-old has also found the net in each of his last two appearances for the Magpies, although he will serve a three-match ban after being found guilty of elbowing Manual Lanzini in their previous encounter against West Ham United.
Newcastle supporters were quick to have their say on Mitrovic scoring again via social media, and they are hoping that he is given more opportunities to shine – once he returns from his spell on the sidelines.
