The majority of Liverpool fans that answered our recent poll admitted that they were regretting the club’s decision to pull the plug on a deal for Lyon captain Nabil Fekir in the summer.
The Reds beat struggling Cardiff City 4-1 at Anfield on Saturday, but two late goals made the scoreline look more flattering than it could have been and Jurgen Klopp’s side have certainly been lacking a creative spark at times this season.
With Adam Lallana returning to full fitness and Xherdan Shaqiri starting to find his feet at the club since his summer move, the Reds may not be wishing for Fekir for much longer, but right now 77 per cent of the fans who answered our poll were disappointed that the deal fell through for the Frenchman.
Fekir, who is valued at £58.5m by Transfermarkt, has three goals and three assists so far this season for Lyon. In the summer though the 25-year-old had already had his photos taken in the Liverpool kit and been interviewed by the in-house media teams, but the Merseyside club then walked away from the reported £53m deal.
