The FA are in talks with Thomas Tuchel and could confirm his appointment as England's new permanent manager "quickly", according to Sky Sports.

Per Sky Sports, the FA are currently negotiating the terms of Tuchel's contract with his representatives. It has been claimed that England could confirm the German's appointment soon as he is now the "primary" candidate to succeed Gareth Southgate in the hot seat.

Last week, Bild journalist Christian Falk reported that the former Bayern and Chelsea manager had entered into talks over taking charge of the England men's national team. Meanwhile, The Times reported on Monday that the FA made informal contact with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola at the start of the season, however, he did not reply to their query.
