In the buildup to the summer transfer window, only one issue is on the minds of the Arsenal fan base – the futures of talismanic duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Both have cast frustrated figures in recent months and are yet to extend their contracts beyond the end of next season, meaning most signs are now pointing to a double departure in the summer.
Of course, that would leave a gigantic hole in the Gunners’ starting XI for next season, leading to plenty of debate over who the north London club should target as potential replacements.
The Times claim Arsenal are planning a £25million bid for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, viewing him as a direct replacement for Mesut Ozil at the tip of midfield.
But replacing a World Cup winning playmaker for another who has made just 13 starts in La Liga this season is hardly the most inspiring transfer rumour.
So needless to say, Arsenal fans are fuming about it on Twitter…
